XRP Ledger Weekly Data Report — Week of August 24–30, 2026
How to read this report
Every metric below carries its source and its snapshot date, and we do not publish figures we cannot trace to a public source. This edition was revised on September 14, 2026 under our fully sourced data policy. Note on the month-end boundary: several series (ETF monthly totals, the RLUSD milestone, the Monday price print) were verified in the first days of September; they are included here with their actual reading dates, because an August month-end report that omitted them would be less accurate, not more.
1. Market metrics
| # | Metric | Value | Context / change | Source, date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | XRP price | ~$1.38 by Monday Aug 31 | Digesting the rally: $1.42 → ~$1.50 → the high $1.30s; held above $1.30 through the pullback from the $1.70 high (Aug 22; also read as $1.66 on some platforms) | CriptoFacil, Aug 22–24; Yellow.com, Aug 31–Sep 1; Summa Money, Sep |
| 2 | Market capitalization | ~$86.5B (calculated) | $1.38 × ~62.7B circulating (market-data basis) | Calculated from Yellow.com price × CoinGecko supply |
| 3 | Distance from all-time high | −62.2% (calculated) | From the $3.65 ATH (CoinGecko, Jul 2025) at ~$1.38 | Calculated |
| 4 | August monthly close | +28% — 2026's best month | Monthly range $0.9874 (Aug 14) to $1.70 (Aug 22) — a 72% span | Yellow.com, Aug 31; edgeX; CriptoFacil |
| 5 | ETF cumulative inflows | ~$1.67B by Aug 31 | All-time record; ~1.11B XRP held by the funds (~1% of supply, one tracker estimate) | SoSoValue via Yellow.com, Aug 31 |
The tape story of the week is the divergence that now defines the market: record monthly fund inflows against a fading price. The complex absorbed $153.55M in August — its best month ever — while the token gave back from $1.70 to the high $1.30s. Both series are real; the reconciliation (escrow's ~300M net monthly unlock meeting a fund bid that only turned on mid-month) is covered in the flows-vs-price deep dive.
2. Supply & escrow
| # | Metric | Value | Context / change | Source, date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | Circulating supply (market-data basis) | ~62.7–62.9B XRP | Nearest sourced readings bracket the month-end; no independent weekly snapshot | CoinGecko basis, Aug–Sep (CoinGabbar: 62.74B, Sep 3) |
| 7 | Circulating supply (ledger basis) | 67.53B XRP | Raw activated supply; methodology note in the Aug 10–16 edition | XRPScan, Jul 26 |
| 8 | XRP in escrow | 32.445B XRP | ~1B unlocks monthly, typically 60–80% re-escrowed (~300M net/month) — the month's net unlock ran nearly neck-and-neck with fund absorption | XRPScan (community-verified), Jul 26; Yellow.com |
| 9 | Total XRP burned (all-time) | 14.37M XRP | Permanent removal via fees | XRPScan (community-verified), Jul 26 |
| 10 | Activated accounts | 8.02M | Ledger-wide cumulative activations | XRPScan, Jul 26 |
| 11 | ETF net assets (7 funds) | $1.44B | Up from $1.33B in one week — record flows plus mark-to-market | SoSoValue via Yellow.com, Aug 31 |
Why two circulating-supply numbers: market-data aggregators apply Ripple's distribution-API methodology to the ledger's raw activated supply; market caps are computed against the estimate. Both are real; they measure different things.
3. Network activity
| # | Metric | Value | Context / change | Source, date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12 | Avg daily active addresses (August) | ~35,700 | vs ~26,400 in July — +33%; held through drawdown and spike | Santiment via edgeX, Aug 13 |
| 13 | Single-day peak | 49,929 (Aug 14) | Two-month high; ~3% above May's reading at $1.54 prices | XRP Ledger data via Sensei.news, Aug 16 |
| 14 | Millionaire wallets (≥1M XRP) | +32 in ~3 months | Added during a 29% decline | Santiment via edgeX, Aug 12–13 |
| 15 | New address creation | Flat | Growth from existing holders, not new entrants | Santiment via Summa Money, Sep |
| 16 | Settlement finality | 3–5 seconds | Protocol design constant | XRPL protocol specification |
The activity block enters September unchanged in character: usage elevated, breadth flat, accumulation concentrated. The ledger's September story — 2.4M daily transactions on 40% fewer active accounts year-over-year, per the month's later compilations — was already visible in these August readings.
4. RLUSD stablecoin — the milestone week
| # | Metric | Value | Context / change | Source, date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 17 | RLUSD market cap | $2.02B | Crossed $2B (Ripple confirmed Aug 25); ~$962.9M on XRPL, ~$1.1B on Ethereum at the crossing | RWA.xyz via Crypto Times, Aug 25 |
| 18 | XRPL-side supply | $1B+ (Aug 28) | From $962.9M at the crossing; >90% of all stablecoin supply on XRPL | Ripple Stablecoin Tracker via COINOTAG, Aug 28 |
| 19 | Holders & activity | 84,630 holders; 1.39M monthly transfers; $11.81B transfer volume (+17% MoM); 8,252 active addresses (−25.2% MoM) | Volume up, addresses down — concentration, the wholesale profile | RWA.xyz via Crypto Times, Aug 25 |
| 20 | Treasury operations | 15M (Aug 29); 20M/19.94M/19.99M ETH + 19.9M XRPL (Aug 30); paired 11M mint/burn (Aug 31) | The paired op is calibration, not growth | Ripple Stablecoin Tracker via COINOTAG, Aug 29–31 |
Item 19's contradiction is the week's most honest datapoint: transfer volume rising 17% while active addresses fell 25% describes a wholesale asset getting more concentrated — fewer, larger participants moving more each. That is the profile its enterprise design brief calls for; it also means the redemption-risk tail is fatter than the holder count suggests.
5. ETF flows & derivatives
| # | Metric | Value | Context / change | Source, date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 21a | ETF weekly net inflows | +$110.49M | Week ending Aug 28 — largest of 2026, largest since the ~$231M week ending Dec 5; fund trading volume $253.05M → $363.03M | SoSoValue via Yellow.com, Aug 31 |
| 21b | ETF monthly total | $153.55M — all-time monthly record | Beats May $131.94M / Apr $81.59M / Feb $58.09M; $150.28M arrived in the final fortnight. Issuer split: Bitwise ~$92M (61%), Franklin ~$36M, Canary ~$15M, others ~$7M | SoSoValue via Finobird, Summa Money, Yahoo Finance |
| 22a | Futures open interest | −15.5% (Aug 17–31 block) | Price +70% while OI fell — spot-led, no leverage fuel. Block figure; weekly interpolation not published | CoinGlass via CoinDesk, Sep 8 |
| 22b | 13F institutional table | Goldman $87.4M (+~$83.1M QoQ) | Then Jane Street $16.6M, Millennium $16.2M, Intesa Sanpaolo $14.4M, Marex UK $8.1M; retail ~84% of complex inflows | Q2 2026 13F filings via James Seyffart / Yellow.com, Aug 31 |
Omitted this week: a funding-rate print had no verifiable weekly reading in this window; later coverage dated its positive turn to Aug 28 at ~+0.01%/8h (CoinGlass via Coin Journal), consistent with the unleveraged character of the rally visible in 22a.
Sentiment & the week ahead
August closed as 2026's most institutionally productive month: record fund inflows, RLUSD past $2B with $1B on XRPL, a $275M prime-brokerage raise, and Goldman's book built +$83.1M in a quarter — all while the token merely round-tripped. September opens with the decision stack: the Senate's CLARITY cloture vote September 15 (60 votes, House breaking Sep 17), the Fed's September 16 decision, and a CPI print between them. The flows-price divergence is the market's defining feature entering it; the $1.31–$1.38 zone is where the next week's tape decides whether the divergence resolves from the flow side or the price side.

FAQ
Why do circulating supply and market cap sources disagree?
They measure different bases: CoinGecko's estimate (from Ripple's distribution API) versus XRPScan's raw activated ledger supply (67.53B as of July 26). Market caps are computed against the estimate. Both are published with dates.
Why did the report include September-dated readings?
Because month-end series (ETF monthly totals, the RLUSD milestone, the Monday price print) are verified in the first days of the following month. Publishing them with their actual reading dates is more accurate than omitting verified data to keep every date inside the calendar week.
What does RLUSD's volume-up-addresses-down pattern mean?
Fewer, larger participants moving more value each — concentration, not contradiction. It is the wholesale profile the asset's enterprise design targets, and the same signature XRPL's own network data shows. The risk it carries: redemption events, when they come, arrive as whale-sized blocks rather than retail drips.
Is the flows-price divergence bearish?
It is unresolved, and both sides have evidence. Bearish: price faded from $1.70 despite record inflows, and escrow's ~300M net monthly unlock offsets much of the fund absorption. Bullish: the inflows are the largest behavioral demand signal in the complex's history, and they arrived while price fell — accumulation, not chasing. The September decision stack is the forcing event.
